Sting Operations Target Oklahoma Drug Suspects

According to Mark Woodward, spokesman for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, agents with the Mobile Operation Team were in Cushing and Drumright throughout March and April of this year., successfully blending in, getting to know dealers, and purchasing drugs. Woodward remarked that obtaining evidence of hand-to-hand drug deals such as these is critical in building a criminal case, which is often difficult for law enforcement in small towns, where many officers are too well known. To overcome this hurdle in Cushing, local police contacted the Bureau of Narcotics and asked for assistance in shutting down local drug dealers. The Oklahoma drug operations yielded 26 arrest warrants for drug-related crimes, the majority of which were in Cushing, Oklahoma.
